Joshua Lionel Cowen (originally Cohen; August 25, 1877, New York City - September 8, 1965, Palm Beach, Florida), American inventor and entrepreneur who created the first successful battery-powered scale model train set, allowing him to begin a corporation which manufactured and sold the famous Lionel trains.
