Manila is the capital of Philippines. The city is built on the island of Luzon. Manila has a population of 1,581,082 and a land area of 38.55 km². Manila has several tourist attractions and a cultural center in the country. Tagalog language is predominant around Manila. Malacanang Palace is a major tourist attraction in the city. It is the former residence of the Marcos family and at present the residence of the President of the Philippines.
