Matricide is the act of one deliberately murdering one's own mother.

White males are overwhelmingly likely to commit matricide, and the motive is usually physical and/or emotional abuse.[1] Committing matricide simultaneously breaks two of the Ten Commandments- disrespecting one's mother, and murder. Salvation from matricide is possible with sincere penance to God for these sins, though such penance is very unlikely.

Etymology

The word is Latin, with mater meaning "mother", and the suffix -cide originating from caedere meaning "to kill".[2]
