Matt Light (born June 23, 1978 Greenville Ohio) is a National Football League offensive tackle for the New England Patriots. From 1996 through 2000 he attended Purdue University and played at offensive tackle for the Boilmakers, Purdue University's football team. In his senior season (2000), he was a Consensus All-Big Ten Conference first-team choice.[1] He entered the NFL in 2001 when he was selected in the second round of the 2001 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots.[2] A consistent starter on the Patriots offensive line since his rookie season, in his entire NFL career, Light has played in 81 games with 71 of those games being starts. In 2006, he was named to the AFC's Pro Bowl team as a backup offensive tackle.[3]
