Nicholas Van Dyke
Bayard was born in New Castle County, Delaware, on September 25, 1738. He studied law in Philadelphia, and was admitted to the bar in 1765.
Bayard was elected to the Continental Congress in 1777 and served until 1781, during which time he signed the Articles of Confederation.
Van Dyke died in New Castle County, Delaware on February 19, 1789; he was interred in Immanuel Churchyard.
