Characteristics
Antichristians dismiss the part that the Christian tradition played in the rapid development of European science, culture, and commerce, especially the scientific revolution. The also mock any and all Christians as being intellectually inferior, even if they are men of renowned intellectual or scientific ability, such as Francis Collins.
In the United States, antichristians have attempted to remove prayer from schools, deny the nation's Christian heritage and outlaw the display of the ten commandments on courts of law, and even replace the term "Merry Christmas" with "Happy Holidays," to the chagrin of Bill O'Reilly.
Examples
Antichristian groups include:
- Communists
- Strong atheists and antitheists
- Postmodern academics, who deny Christian truths in favor of their own relativistic professor values[1][2][3]
- Secular humanists
- Historical revisionists, who seek to deny Christianity's positive effect on history.
- A wide swath of liberals who have removed school prayer, the Ten Commandments from courthouses, and actively attack the heavily Christian homeschool movement
Infamous antichristians include:
