Quotas are a form of affirmative action whereby a certain number of positions at a university or workplace are reserved for a racial group based on the color of their skin or their gender. Quotas, favored by liberals are a form of so-called "reverse discrimination," whereby more qualified applicants are denied the position based on their race.[1]
