RedState is a conservative news website founded on July 11, 2004 by Josh Trevino, Ben Domenech, and Mike Krempasky, then known as RedState is currently run by Erick Erickson and a volunteer team of front page contributors as the singular hub of conservative grassroots collaboration on the right. In December 2006 they were purchased by Eagle Publishing, Inc. By registering with the site, anyone can become contributors to RedState and their contributions are called diaries. The best stuff gets voted on by the community and the best of the best gets put on the front page for the world to see. Per their webpage "Welcome to RedState. We’re happy warriors and we’re glad to have you in the fight," and "At RedState, we are conservatives in primaries and Republican in general elections and we aim to win." Many Republican politicians have contributed to their pages. In some controversy, they have banned people who don't follow the rules, think liberal trolls. They have a policy of not including stories on Obama birth certificate controversy and 9/11 Truther contributions. However, they helped to publish statements wrongfuly condemning Todd Akin, effectively casting their lot as a Rino Backer.
