Red Bull is an energy drink produced in Austria. According to a 2005 study, it was the most popular energy drink in the world, possessing over 60% of the market share.[1] It's main alertness-inducing ingredients are caffeine, taurine and glucuronolactone, all of which can cause adverse cardiovascular effects. However, a study by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has concluded that the amounts present in Red Bull are considered safe.[2]

Red Bull also owns several sports teams, most notably the New York Red Bulls (MLS) and Red Bull Racing (Formula 1).
