Richard Mourdock is the pro-life, movement conservative Treasurer of the State of Indiana who defeated the entrenched, better funded liberal Republican Richard Lugar in the primary for U.S. Senate in 2012, but ultimately lost against Democratic Joe Donnelly in November 2012.
The liberal media successfully exploited a response Mourdock made during a debate to question about whether abortion should be lawful in cases of rape or incense. Mourdock responded:[1]
