Richard Mourdock is the pro-life, movement conservative Treasurer of the State of Indiana who defeated the entrenched, better funded liberal Republican Richard Lugar in the primary for U.S. Senate in 2012, but ultimately lost against Democratic Joe Donnelly in November 2012.

The liberal media successfully exploited a response Mourdock made during a debate to question about whether abortion should be lawful in cases of rape or incense. Mourdock responded:[1]

I struggled with in myself for a long time, but I came to realize that life is that gift from God. And, I think, even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen.

Mourdock then stood up to demands by pro-aborts to apologize. He did not apologize and pointed out how the liberal media distorted his remarks.

Mourdock had the endorsements of Mitt Romney, Sarah Palin, Mark Levin, Steve Forbes, Herman Cain, and many others.
