Robert Jones "Rob" Portman (born December 19, 1955) is a Pro-life Republican Party politician and junior United States Senator from Ohio. Previously he served as a U.S. Representative from Ohio's second congressional district (1993-2005), United States Trade Representative (2005-2006), and Director of the Office of Management and Budget (2006-2007). He was elected to the United States Senate in 2010 by defeating Democrat Lee Fisher.
Portman is playing the role of Mitt Romney's debating partner in Romney's preparations for the 2012 presidential debates.
