Russell Dana "Russ" Feingold, born March 2, 1953 (age 65), is the former Democratic junior United States Senator from the state of Wisconsin, who was defeated by conservative Republican Ron Johnson in the 2010 election. Feingold served in the senate from 1993 until 2011.
Feingold was the named co-author of the McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Act, which (in the opinion of Conservapedia administrators) infringed on the First Amendment right of free speech.
Feingold was given a 93% rating by NARAL.
Feingold was the first senator to call for a specific date for troop withdrawal of U.S. forces in the Iraq War on August 17, 2005. When President Bush pointed out a specific timetable would play into the terrorists' hands, Feingold stated that "not talking about endgames" was advantageous for the terrorists.
