Sexual healing is a myth. It is not possible to use sex to heal emotional pain (see reparative therapy).

French psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan wrote:

I have seen both men and women who have tried to seduce a woman to get from her the nurturing and attention they never received from their mothers. And I have seen both women and men who have tried to seduce a man to get from him the protection and attention they never received from their fathers. And in the end it’s all an impossibility. [1]

Sexual Healing is also the name of a 1982 song by American singer Marvin Gaye.
