Small town values are conservative values that promote virtues such as self-reliance. Small town values do not require the help of an overbearing government and are often tied into family values. They reflect the selfless values of hard-working, independent conservatives who prefer to help each other out than ask for a handout from the government. Small town values are championed by politicians like former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and former presidential hopeful Rick Santorum.

Those who do not agree with these small town values sometimes mock those who hold them.
