Gaius Suetonius Tranquillus (69/75-after 130), commonly known as Suetonius, was a Roman historian and biographer.

Suetonius wrote De Vita Caesarum ("Lives of the Caesars", or simply "The Twelve Caesars"). This work provided biographies of Julius Caesar, Augustus, Tiberius, Caligula, Claudius, Nero, Galba, Otho, Vitellius, Vespasian, Titus and Domitian.
