Suicide bombing is a terrorist tactic. Contrary to popular belief, the majority of suicide bombers are not Muslim and the majority of such attacks do not take place in the Middle East. Between 1980 and 2000 the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (aka LTTE, aka Tamil Tigers) carried out more suicide attacks, 168, than all other groups combined. [1]

Suicide bombing is used by Muslims in Iraq against Americans, and in Israel against Jews. Occasionally, it is reported in Saudi Arabia as well.

The technique has been, however, most widely practiced secular Hindus in India and Sri Lanka. [2]

Fox News suggested that the practice should be called "homicide bombing," "suicide murdering," or "homicide murdering" to reflect the evil nature of the tactic. (Reference needed)
