Aschlafly spake thusly:I don't think this is the first time anyone has thought of this. I would expect Google's search engines to recognize this scam and filter it fairly soon. But if not, the perpetrators are using our name without our permission and I think that violates our intellectual property. We'll have them explain themselves to a judge if they want to persist in this. Also, we can tell their ISP and it will stop intellectual property violations that use its machines. -- 19:27, 15 April 2007 (EDT)

Given that the copyright is as it is, the offensive redirect may not violate anything? They are not using the name Conservapedia at all, no?-- Rob Pommertalk 00:59, 16 April 2007 (EDT)
Oh, I thought they were, but maybe I'm mistaken.--Aschlafly 01:11, 16 April 2007 (EDT)

Throw away accounts

I have heard some users suspect, as do I, that there are throw away accounts being used by WP users coming here to retaliate. Is there a template or a desire to list this accounts, e.g., {{suspected throw away account|This account will be removed if not used within 28 days. If this warning is in error, the user of this account may delete it|Today's Date}} Or are such throw away accounts not bothersome or otherwise useful? I have identified at least two such suspect hit and run accounts, but have not tagged them or anything. HeartOfGold 00:11, 9 May 2007 (EDT)

Good idea. RobS 00:24, 9 May 2007 (EDT)

Hello Admins

I would like to thank you guys/gals for what you do, and to state that I like the very concept of Conservapedia. ie: "An encyclopedic place with a Conservative view, and not a liberal / politically correct zoo." (it rhymes - lol) All of this is new to me.

I am a 50 year old Network Admin for Citigroup. In the fall of 2006, I came across Wikipedia, and made several contributions. But almost immediately, I didn't like the "liberal anti-christian, anti-religious bias that Wikipedia is filled with.

Then, a month or so ago, I heard about Conservapedia, and switched to this place. I copied my contributions from Wikipedia (about my hometown and neighborhood) and added it to this place (neighborhoods of jacksonville).

Once here, I frankly haven't done much except watch the main page of "The United States" entry, where I remove the constant vandalism from the page.

It is that vandalism that I am here to speak to you about. There are several users that you may want to "watch / block" based on their vandalism. ie: Shinerduarm, JohnSmith, Chibula, Gumba, Xenophile, Cybrpnk, and Comradejay. All of these users appear to be recent.

All of the above have defaced the United States main page with pretty vile stuff, with the exception of JohnSmith, who keeps making "liberal/politically correct" edits. The above should be blocked, and JohnSmith advised that perhaps he would feel more "at home at Wikipedia."

In any case, if I make a typo now and then, please accept my apologies and just correct me. Thanks. Starfleet7 12:52, May 28 2007 (EDT)

First of all, a very hearty welcome to you! I like your slogan very much and our panel may ask you for rights to it for the benefit of Conservapedia.
Second of all, every one of those users you identify will now be blocked or warned. Shinerduarm has already been blocked for infinite duration.--Aschlafly 13:01, 28 May 2007 (EDT)

Follow-up: all of the users you identified had already been blocked except JohnSmith, and I just warned him of blocking. Thanks again.--Aschlafly 13:13, 28 May 2007 (EDT)

Hello again

Thank you. Starfleet7 13:28, May 28 2007 (EDT)

Thank you Starfleet, excellant contributions and we look forward to more. RobS 11:34, 29 May 2007 (EDT)

Good Afternoon

I was tweaking the "Confederate States of America" page, when I noticed something missing. But not on that page. I had just linked the "Confederate" main page to the "United States" main page, when I noticed that on the main United States page, in the History section, there is "no mention of", much less a link to the "Confederate States of America". The "United States" article goes from 1848 to 1870, without even mentioning the Civil War, or War Between The States !! An amazing discrepancy. How do I go about getting permission to insert something there, or, would one of you do it ? Thanks. Starfleet7 14:03, May 30 2007 (EDT)
