I think this page should be deleted as it serves no purpose what so ever. I have put a vote up so we can vote on the issue. Please attach your signature and a # to whichever one you wish to vote for. Dvergne 05:41, 29 April 2013 (EDT)

  1. I voted to keep this article, but my vote was removed for alleged "trolling". So I will restate my case in a less snarky manner. I don't see anything wrong with a bit of levity as long as it is clearly marked as an essay and is not masquerading as a genuine article. Though I don't find User:Conservative's work to be funny in the slightest bit, that's not reason enough for deletion. --DonnyC 23:27, 3 May 2013 (EDT)

  1. -because its childish humour. KBeer 18:46, 3 May 2013 (EDT)
  2. I agree with KBeer but would leave out the word "humour". AlanE 18:58, 3 May 2013 (EDT)
  3. Childish and also factually incorrect (Mother's Day, Father's Day, 4th of July, etc.) GregG 20:07, 3 May 2013 (EDT)
  4. Agree with Kbeer Dvergne 23:44, 3 May 2013 (EDT)

  2. at the risk of banning, I'm learning toward deletion but my strong belief in the freedom of speech is holding me back... On a (semi) related note, Conservative please unlock the page Penn Jillette so I can bring the facts up to date. Fnarrow 03:09, 4 May 2013 (EDT)

Other Thoughts

  1. I'm not sure why this particular article was singled out for deletion. The "tumbleweed gag" is a staple of internet forum and wiki communities. If it is decided that this article should be deleted for being "childish", then the following articles should be deleted as well:

True conservatives don't bow their knees to liberal mobs!

True conservatives don't bow their knees to liberal mobs - especially atheist/agnostic mobs! Hold your vote libs, but I am not unlocking the web page to pacify some humorless and thin-skinned liberals! :) "I once wanted to become an atheist but I gave up . . . they have no holidays." - Henny YoungmanConservative 19:03, 3 May 2013 (EDT)

What's your understanding of the word, "mobs", Cons? AlanE 19:23, 3 May 2013 (EDT)

I actually laughed when I saw the page, it just doesn't seem to fit in with the rest of the content of the site, such as the educational resources. KBeer 21:38, 3 May 2013 (EDT)

AlanE, a very unreasonable group of people who have difficulty controlling their emotions and focus on things which do not matter! :) Conservative 21:49, 3 May 2013 (EDT)
Cons, old mate; two against and one "wait and see" is not a "mob" by any definition of the word. (Unless it was three and a bit bottles of Bundy in NFQ - "How much ya drink last Sat'dee, Dick?" "Big mobs, mate, would you believe, ay.") AlanE 22:03, 3 May 2013 (EDT)
Mob is more commonly used by aborginies referring to groups of white (or sometime others such as lebos, wogs, coconuts/fobs, asians ect.) people. Or a number of kangaroos are also called a mob. Some nice tucker in that mob, hey uncle?. Also only had a quite one last saturday mate, had a six pack or two and a fair whack of rum bottle. Dvergne 23:50, 3 May 2013 (EDT)

Actually I'm very good at controlling my emotions. Also I don't think typing a # and giving a four word reason requires a great deal of focus... KBeer 22:21, 3 May 2013 (EDT)
