Numerous types of goods?

Food stamps can only be used to purchase food. Though SNAP benefits are not as restrictive as WIC benefits, the funds may only be used to purchase food that you actually prepare yourself, so not even hot (prepared) foods can be purchased. A level of personal responsibility comes along with the SNAP program, as one can still purchase junk foods, but I'm not sure what the article means by "numerous types of goods."
