Not challanged for showing a naked boy prancing around, but for not figleafing his private parts. Even The Little Mermaid doesn't show a vulva or female nipples. --Ed Poor Talk 14:45, 13 July 2012 (EDT)

I've made several improvements to this article. (1) Sendak's best known book (by far!) is Where the Wild Things Are. An absolute classic of children's literature. (2) It's well documented that he hid his homosexuality to avoid upsetting his parents. (3) Yes, he was Jewish, but I've moved that fact to the end; the important thing about Sendak is that he was a wonderful writer of children's books. StaceyT 19:52, 13 July 2012 (EDT)
