Dante Gabriel Rossetti wrote of "this close-companioned inarticulate hour". It seems we are having an inarcticulate two months!. AlanE 20:21, 16 November 2012 (EST)
Nearly Christmas - things are hotting up. Santa's so worried about the silence from Conservapedia that it's affecting his elf. AlanE 19:20, 22 December 2012 (EST)

Serious Talk

Please use this section for any serious discussion of the article or items above. To those who wish to participate in good will and have a play on words (no matter how weak) on an Arctic theme, "Yeseque" (Welcome) AlanE 13:11, 2 March 2013 (EST)

I'm not going to delete all this talk pollution since I know AlanE will start an edit war with me, and this will lead me to violate the 90/10 rule too. With that being said, I'm watching this page and if I find any user editing it excessively he will get a block. - Markman 08:20, 2 March 2013 (EST)

That is a bit sexist of you. I would think a female should get a block too if she edit excessively here. Dvergne 01:30, 5 March 2013 (EST)
This is serious business Dvergne. Flippant remarks and/or humour are not acceptable and will be met with a lengthy block. I will try to plead your case but I would expect a month block, if not longer. Perhaps there may be a case for mercy this time. Besides, I should bring your attention to the rules of conservative grammar which seem to imply that where an person's gender is unknown one should use the masculine pronoun. You might not be convinced by this rule, but there you have it. --DamianJohn 04:38, 5 March 2013 (EST)

If possible renewal of article should include:

  • Location and conditions; physical description
  • History of attempts at reaching the Pole
  • Peary and Cook's attempts
  • Popular culture Karajou 17:53, 1 March 2013 (EST)

To Markman

This page is here following an agreement between AlanE and Karajou. If Karajou wants it deleted then that is it, but you have no right to arbitarily break i9nto that agreement.AlanE 16:29, 13 June 2013 (EDT)

You were never given permission for engaging in excessive talk pollution. - Markman 16:32, 13 June 2013 (EDT)
Markman: Karajou agreed to re-instate this page if I wrote an article to his satisfaction. To my knowledge the article is satisfactory - the page was reinstated by Karajou! and can be said to exist with the permission of Karajou seeing as he, in effect, created it. Since then there have been three or four edits totalling less than 50 words in more than three months. In fact the words generated in this little "conversation" total more than those puns added since Karajou replaced the page. AlanE 16:51, 13 June 2013 (EDT)
Karajou gave permission to reinstate the talk page - not any talk pollution in it. Notice that I'm not trying to have the talk page deleted, just to have it clean from talk pollution. - Markman 16:53, 13 June 2013 (EDT)

Karajou did not "give permission to reinstate the talk page" he reinstated it himself. It is a talk page for goodness sake! People talk on it. As far as the pun-page is concerned, I doubt whether I spent more than two minutes on it in over 4 years writing what? about 120 words (not counting the tithes.) In that same time I wrote up to 100,000 words of information at an average of over 300 words per article. So for you to invoke the 90/10 rule as you did with PennyT shows either ignorance of the rule or dishonesty.

I still want to add to this site but it's getting difficult. This of course is what you want. AlanE 17:34, 13 June 2013 (EDT)
It doesn't matter how much you spend on it. It's still talk pollution and it's making conservapedia look unprofessional. - Markman 17:40, 13 June 2013 (EDT)
Oh please!! Why, if it looks so "unprofessional" did Karajou reinstate it? And why have you deleted the edits that Karajou reinstated? And why, if it offends you so much, didn't you delete the page when it was first reinstated? Why wait over three months? AlanE 18:00, 13 June 2013 (EDT)
"Why wait over three months?" I was being a coward and decided to do the easy thing rather than the right thing. I admit my fault. - Markman 18:02, 13 June 2013 (EDT)
I respect your honesty in this instance. We'll just have to wait and see what Karajou thinks. After all, he installed the page as part of a deal, so he should be the only one to delete it. AlanE 18:37, 13 June 2013 (EDT)

There was nothing wrong with the talk page, including the so-called "talk pollution"; there is nothing wrong with banter between people on the ways and means of making an article better; there is nothing wrong with people engaging in polite, fun conversation. Sorry, Markman, but I'm siding with AlanE on this. Karajou 01:31, 14 June 2013 (EDT)
