Why is one of the greatest Christians ever to have lived not given his full title of SAINT Paul and is being referred to merely as Paul? This is disgusting, get it fixed please. FingoMcGlingo 16:28, 11 March 2007 (EDT)
- Done. But do bear in mind that it wasn't his title at the time! --Petrus 08:00, 14 March 2007 (EDT)

Name
Shouldn't we put back some mention of when Saul went from being called Saul to when he started to be called Paul? Learn together 04:07, 3 July 2007 (EDT)
- I'm not 100% certain on this one - I'll need to go away and check several different translations, but as far as I recall he never mentions changing his name; rather, later translators used a Latin name to emphasize he was no longer a pharisee. G-d Himself uses the name Saul when speaking to/of him. It needs to be explained in the article that his name change was a "cosmetic" exercise by later men, not a real act by Shaul/Paul. Anyway, I'll go and dig out the commentaries and see what I can add. File:User Fox.png Fox (talk|contribs) 05:14, 3 July 2007 (EDT)
- I think you're right, there is no mention of a name change. However, it doesn't necessarily follow that this was a later addition. Since he was born a Roman citizen he would have needed a Roman name at birth (I think) - i.e. he may have been both Saul and Paulus from the start. Bluebell 22:21, 19 November 2007 (EST)
