Actually several claims were settled just last year as part of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. The Treaty used language to the effect of "from the Sandia Mountains to the Rio Grande River", not specifying if it refered to the crest of the moutain or the base. So the ownership of the land in between had been in dispute for decades. Also, the Treaty guaranteed the unresticted flow of person by railway between the ceded territories and Mexico--something immigration activists often cite. RobS 16:17, 12 June 2007 (EDT)
