Taras Bulba, published in 1835, is the name of the famous novel by Ukrainian author Mykola Hohol. It is also the name of the main character. The story is about Kozaks rebellion against the Poles. It is written from a Ukrainian perspective, as opposed to the other well known book about Kozak rebellion, With Fire and Sword by Henryk Sienkiewicz which is written from the Polish perspective.
