Temple University is a Pennsylvania public university founded in 1884.[2] Temple has campuses in Rome and Tokyo, and the University operates prestigious study abroad programs in London, Beijing, Paris, Mumbai and other locations.[2] It was ranked a third tier school in US News's 2008 "National Universities: Tier 3" list.[3]
History
Dr. Russell Conwell founded the school as an informal adult-education outgrowth of his Baptist Temple ministry, Temple College was chartered in 1888 and was incorporated as Temple University in 1907.[2]
