Third Circuit

Third Circuit is part of the United States Court of Appeals. The Court of Appeals try federal cases on appeal from district courts. Federal appellate courts are governed by the Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure. The United States is divided into twelve circuits (districts). The third circuit oversees the following districts:

• District of Delaware

• District of New Jersey

• Eastern district of Pennsylvania

• Middle district of Pennsylvania

• Western district of Pennsylvania

There are 14 active judges in the court and it is based at the U.S. Courthouse in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
