Tibet is a mountainous region that was located between India and China until it was forcefully annexed by the Chinese in 1949, and the local Buddhist culture was suppressed. It is now geographically considered to be a part of China, consisting of the southwestern portion of the country.

The spiritual leader of Tibet is His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. [1]
