Tim Scott

Tim Scott (born September 19, 1965 in North Charleston, South Carolina) is a Republican member of the South Carolina House of Representatives and U.S. Representative-elect from South Carolina's 1st congressional district, succeeding retiring Congressman Henry Brown. Scott touted his record as a fiscal and social conservative, and received the endorsment of former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. He is the first Black Republican elected to Congress from the Deep South since reconstruction.
