Tuvia Maizel Museum

The Tuvia Maizel Museum is dedicated to the history of Mexican Jewry and to the Holocaust. It is maintained by the Ashkenazi community in Mexico. The first Jews came to Mexico in the 16th century.

Mexico City has 23 synagogues. The largest Ashkenazi synagogue, "Beth El", is also the community's social center. Mexico's first Ashkenazi synagogue, built in 1941, is abandoned.
