The University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) was established in 1944. In 1995, it was elected to membership in the prestigious Association of American Universities.[1] Newsweek's How to Get Into College guide ranked UCSB as one of the country's "hottest colleges" twice in the past five years.[2]
