Walter "Wally" William Herger, M.C. (1945-) was the US Representative for California's Second Congressional District from January 3, 1987, until January 3, 2013. He is a Republican with a solidly conservative voting record.[1]

Early Life

Herger was born May 20, 1945 (age 73) in Yuba City, California and grew up on a cattle ranch. He graduated from East Nicolaus High School and, following in his parents' footsteps, became a rancher. From 1969 to 1980, he was the owner of Herger Gas Company, a propane distributor. Currently, he resides in Chico, California.
