Wilfred Darcy Henwood was born in South Africa and became a naturalized U. S. citizen. He worked as an engineer for Standard Oil of California (SOCAL) in the 1930's and 40's. Isaac Folkoff who was the Communist Party of the United States (CPUSA) West Coast liaison with Soviet intelligence put Henwood in touch with the San Fransisco office of Soviet intelligence in 1944.
