William J. Whalen

William J. Whalen was a well known American non-fiction writer and an expert on comparative religion.[1]

Whalen attended the University of Notre Dame and received degrees from Marquette and Northwestern. He was an informtion officer with the Navy during World War II and served in Saipn and Guam.[2]

For over forty years Whalen worked at Purdue University as a professor of communications. Since 1950 he also directed the publications program at that school.

Whalen wrote over two hundred articles, author and co-authored fifteen books, and numersous pamphlets and encyclopedia articles.
