The worst college majors are fields of study that leave the student with relatively few job opportunities and often a distorted or ultra-liberal view of the world. Students incur an average debt in excess of $25,000 for attending college, and these college majors can leave such students without the ability to pay off their loans, which are typically not dischargeable in bankruptcy.

Adding insult to injury, many public colleges have begun charging students more if they decline one of the Worst College Majors, and study something of value instead.[1] Incidentally, a study by USA Today and the non-profit Education Sector showed that 514 colleges are more likely to produce defaults in student loans than graduates.[2]

In addition, college matters less and less to employers. The number of degree-less hires is trending way up at Google.[3] President of the John William Pope Center for Higher Education Policy wrote in the Wall Street Journal, “Many liberal-arts graduates, even from the best schools, aren’t getting jobs in part because they didn’t learn much in school.”[4]

  9. In their book Encyclopedia of Social Deviance, which was published in 2014, authors Craig J. Forsyth and ‎Heith Copes wrote: "Atheism as a subject of social science has also generally been ignored in comparison with the scholarly work on religion" (see page 41 of their book). Social Scientists are often generally reluctant to study atheists and it is considered not a great thing to have on your resume for future employment as far as graduate students (see: Why is Psychology Silent When it Comes to Atheism? - Dr. Melanie Brewster - Skepticon 7, Published on Nov 27, 2014). According to the atheist Dr. Melanie Brewster, "Good peer-reviewed psychology journals are kind of hesitant to take studies on atheism."[4] Hunsberger was the first social scientists to do a fairly intensive look at atheists and a book on his study was published in 2006.[5] One of the great ironies of this state of affairs is that the very well-known psychiatrist Sigmund Freud was an atheist (much of his work is now considered pseudoscience).[6] See also: Sigmund Freud's view of religion).
  10. Global atheism/agnosticism is declining and the trend of desecularization is expected to continue in the 21st century. Professor Eric Kaufmann told a secular audience in Australia: "The trends that are happening worldwide inevitably in an age of globalization are going to affect us."[7] In the Western World and the world as a whole interest in internet atheism is declining.

"Irrespective of the specific title of the course, the 'magic' in the fiction is being analyzed by applying concepts of physics, chemistry, biology and engineering. This honors course creatively packages scientific principles in a contemporary way that will interest today's students," Gira said.
