St. Clair's defeat, sometimes referred to as the Battle of the Wabash, is regarded by some historians as the most decisive defeat in U.S. military history[1] and also the largest defeat of American forces by American Indians. The battle took place on November 4, 1791, and is named after Arthur St. Clair, who was the general over the forces.

St. Clair was forced to resign from the military as a result of the incident.[2]
