Cage-free eggs are required by law California, Nevada, Washington and Oregon, as of 2024. These states require that any eggs sold there be from cage-free chickens.[1]
In 2025, the requirement of cage-free eggs begins in Michigan, Arizona, and Colorado. In 2030, Rhode Island and Utah limit sales there to cage-free.
