Question: Are there 7 reasons the godless British have become the most pathetic pantywaists in the world?

Read the essay below and you be the judge!

Spoiler alert: The are AT LEAST 7 reasons the godless British have become the most pathetic pantywaists in the world.

A Eurobarometer poll in 2010 reported that 37% of UK citizens "believed there is a God", 33% believe there is "some sort of spirit or life force" and 25% answered "I don't believe there is any sort of spirit, God or life force".[1] See: British atheism

In 2014, The Telegraph reported: "The British are among the most sceptical in the world about religion, a global study has found. Just over a third of people in the UK believe religion has a positive role to play in our daily lives, compared to a global average of 59 per cent."[2]

Britain has had a significant influence on global atheism through its promotion of the atheistic ideology of evolution.

Question: Have the British become the most godless, pathetic, pantywaists in the world?

Yes, the British have most certainly become the most godless, pathetic pantywaists in the world - bar none! If you have any doubts about this matter, I encourage you to read the 7 reasons why the British have become the most godless, pathetic pantywaists in the world below.

Richard Dawkins
The Oxford University Professor Daniel Came wrote to the British, New Atheist Richard Dawkins:: "The absence of a debate with the foremost apologist for Christian theism is a glaring omission on your CV and is of course apt to be interpreted as cowardice on your part."[3]

The United Kingdom and Britain have more nancy boys in their parliaments than other parliaments in the world

In 2022, The Daily Mail published the video 'The gayest parliament in the world': MP John Nicolson applauded.

In 2021, the British newspaper The Times noted that "Britain has most gay parliament in the world".[4]

Time magazine noted in 2015: "Following last week’s election, the U.K. now has more lesbian, gay or bisexual Members of Parliament (MPs) than anywhere in the world."[5]

On May 14, 2015, Time magazine noted:

Following last week’s election, the U.K. now has more lesbian, gay or bisexual Members of Parliament (MPs) than anywhere in the world. The Westminster House of Commons now boasts 32 MPs who openly identify as LGB (there are no transgender MPs) out of 650, making up 4.9% of the Parliament.

The data comes from the University of North Carolina’s LGBT Representation and Rights Research Initiative, but collecting statistics on LGBT representation is always tricky because some lawmakers may not have revealed their sexuality. In fact, there could be more gay MPs in another country where people do not feel as free to state their sexual preference in public. Nevertheless, the fact that more are willing to do so in Britain than elsewhere signals more progressive attitudes, putting it ahead of countries like Sweden where there are only 12 out lawmakers (3.4% of the parliament).

Elsewhere in Europe there are only two currently-serving transgender lawmakers, Belgium’s Petra De Sutter and Poland’s Anna Grodzka. There have only been two other openly transgender lawmakers in the world: New Zealand’s Georgina Beyer who won a seat in 1999 and retired from politics in 2007, and Vladimir Luxuria who was elected in Italy in 2006 but lost her seat two years later.

The number of gay British MPs is not far off the U.K. proportion as a whole, which is roughly between 5% and 7% of the country according to the government’s estimate. Thirteen of Britain’s out MPs belong to the center-left Labour Party and 12 to the center-right Conservatives.

It was the Conservative Prime Minister David Cameron who introduced same-sex marriage in March 2014, despite significant opposition within his party. He has said this was one of his proudest achievements during his first term as Prime Minister.[6]

UK police horses reject the homosexual agenda

2023 UK military hit by ‘dangerously’ overweight soldiers-related problems. They are a bunch of fat pantywaists. UK soldier was 420 pounds (over 190 kg) when he was discharged!

Obesity is positively associated with impulsiveness, lower self-discipline and neuroticism.[7]

The Tasmin News Agency reported on January, 08, 2023:

About 40,000 of the UK military’s 145,000 personnel have been officially classified as dangerously overweight or obese over the past five years, according to Ministry of Defense (MoD) statistics as cited by a British media outlet.

The statistics also revealed that 5,200 obese or overweight British servicemen have been medically discharged since 2010, with scores of soldiers suffering from Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease, Sputnik reported.

The heaviest soldier, who was sacked from the army after failing mandatory fitness tests, weighed more than 420 pounds (over 190 kg).

Over 850 troops have reportedly been prescribed diet pills since 2014, while 60 others have had liposuction surgery to tackle the problem.

This came as a MoD spokesperson claimed that “personnel can have multiple causes listed in a medical discharge, so may not have been discharged specifically for weight related issues.”[8]

Academy of Medical Royal Colleges calls Britain the "fat man of Europe". Real men have rock-hard physiques. Pantywaists are soft and flabby

Professor Terence Stephenson in Measuring Up, a report on the nation's obesity crisis by the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges (AoMRC) called Britain "the fat man of Europe".[9][10][11] See: Godless Britain is the fat man of Europe and United Kingdom and obesity and Atheism and obesity

Real men have rock hard physiques. Pantwaists are soft and flabby.

The only thing worse than a so-called man being a pantywaist is being a fat and flabby pantywaist!

The British atheist Stephen Fry holding a chocolate birthday cake.
A British fat cat.

In 2015, The Guardian reported concerning the United Kingdom: "Fat cats – and dogs and rabbits – are expected to outstrip healthy ones within five years, as pet obesity rates continue to rise across the country..."[12]

Real men are solid providers for their families. Godless, British pantywaists are fat, lazy, unproductive and often sickly slobs - lose some weight Brits. Please!

"Through sloth the roof sinks in, and through indolence the house leaks." - Ecclesiastes 10:18

Godless, overweight, British atheists, get some exercise by repairing your the United Kingdom's crumbling roads!

In 2023, The Telegraph reported concerning the United Kingdom's road repair crisis:

The pothole crisis is a peculiarly British phenomenon. Deeply unglamorous, moderately frightening and extremely easy to grumble about, the proliferation of potholes on the UK’s decrepit road network is gradually overtaking the weather as a go-to topic of conversation when you bump into someone’s dad in the supermarket.

It’s always been something of a cultural mainstay. Local newspapers rely heavily on disgruntled motorists pointing at potholes for their front page content, and Facebook is awash with groups of people complaining – as is our tradition – about the state of the UK’s roads.

Britain’s road network – upon which we all rely – is crumbling, perhaps irrevocably, into disrepair. And the implications of that go far beyond scratched alloys and dented bumpers...

“It’s grim,” according to Ian Lancaster, director of the Asphalt Industry Alliance. “The figures speak for themselves; £14 billion one-time catch-up costs, which would take 11 years to complete, assuming we have the resources available to do it. It’s grim and I don’t think the public realises how grim it is.”[13]

The UK someday being a "Singapore on the Thames". Start working more hours godless UK citizens. You've built up a track record of working less hours than so many countries. Shame! Get to work!

Wikipedia's article List of countries by average annual labor hours states "The following list is the average annual working time per employed person (men and women) in hours in 2017. Data is not available for all countries of the world".

Using the screen capture above, please notice the the lazy citizens of the United Kingdom were ranked 51 on the list! Lazy Brits, you are not going to produce a "Singapore on the Thames"[14] prosperity by being lazy. If only the lazy Brits studied as hard and worked as hard as the prosperous Singaporeans!

According to the websites Statista, "The average weekly hours worked on the main job in the United Kingdom saw no significant changes in 2021 in comparison to the previous year 2020 and remained at around 36.77 hours."[15]
In the more prosperous country of Singapore, citizens worked harder than UK citizens did in 2017.
In 2022, Singapore had the 2nd highest GDP per capita in the world, while the UK was ranked merely 27th. See: GDP per Capita in 2022

Singapore was a former colony of the UK. Oh, how the mighty have fallen!
In 2021, Singapore's education system was ranked #1 in the world when measured by the above metrics.[16]

The UK was merely ranked #11 when measured by the above metrics.[17] It didn't even make the top 10. Shame! Time to hit the books godless UK citizens.

It doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to deduce that laziness is the core cause of Britain's and the UK's lackluster economy

Those slothful godless Brits are often fat, sickly slobs who retire early and drink too much booze - especially you compare them to industrious Protestants like the Amish

Liz Truss, the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, was caught on audio tape indicating that British workers lacked the "skill and application" of foreign nationals.[18]

Liz Truss, the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, was caught on audio tape indicating that British workers lacked the "skill and application" of foreign nationals.[19] In response, the BBC published the news article Liz Truss accused of branding British workers lazy in leaked audio[20]

In 2022, The Economist published the article Britain’s productivity problem is long-standing and getting worse. Evidently, many godless, slothful Brits are reluctant to upgrade their skills to meet the current demands of the marketplace or they are too broke or lazy to implement productivity-producing technology. I mention poverty in relation to a lack of investment in productivity-improving technology because lazy people are often broke!

The Economist: Britain’s productivity problem is long-standing and getting worse UK . (Real men are solid providers for their families. British pantywaists are fat, lazy, unproductive and often sickly slobs - lose some weight Brits. Please! See: Godless Britain is the fat man of Europe and United Kingdom and obesity and Atheism and obesity).

Bloomberg: UK Productivity is Below the Average of Other G-7 Nations (Real men are solid providers for their families. British pantywaists are fat, lazy, unproductive and often sickly slobs - lose some weight Brits. Please! See: Godless Britain is the fat man of Europe and United Kingdom and obesity and Atheism and obesity).

The Economist states: "But even if the frontier is slowing, there is no iron law that says Britain cannot move closer to it. Catching up with America’s level of labour productivity would mean that Britain’s gdp per person would be £6,600 higher, for example. And even if it is hard to pin down the exact sources of the productivity slowdown in the 2010s, it is easier to identify areas where Britain has to do better in future. They fall into three big categories: investment, people and the spread of knowledge."[21]

The British are among the most nonreligious/irreligious people on earth (See: British atheism). But in the 21st century, this will profoundly change (see: Attention British, militant atheists! Brace yourself for the mighty, religious wave that is coming).

All other things being equal, Protestants as a group work harder than atheists (see: Atheism and sloth and Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism and Protestant cultural legacies). Despite being an atheist, Harvard University historian Niall Ferguson declared: "Through a mixture of hard work and thrift the Protestant societies of the North and West Atlantic achieved the most rapid economic growth in history."[22]

In addition, in my essays God is smiting Britain. The godless land of fat, heavy drinkers! and Godless Brits, the days of gorging on cheap birthday cakes is over!, I point out that people in the United Kingdom could certainly upgrade their health habits. Professor Terence Stephenson in Measuring Up, a report on the nation's obesity crisis by the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges (AoMRC) called Britain "the fat man of Europe".[23][24][25] See: Godless Britain is the fat man of Europe and United Kingdom and obesity and Atheism and obesity

It doesn't take a medical doctor to figure out that fat, sedentary people who drink too much booze are not productive dynamos in the marketplace and often suffer from ill-health. The prestigious British medical journal Lancet indicates: "A substantial proportion of poor health in populations is preventable."[26]

Amish youth groups from Davies County, IN, and Lancaster County, PA, visit Behalt as part of their preparing to make the decision of whether or not to join the Amish community on a long term basis (namely, their adulthood).

Please notice how attentive the Amish youths are. Farm work and reading the Bible contribute to improved attention spans. Sadly, the godless British who spend too much time watching the telly on their couches have short attention spans.

The Bloomberg News article Long Covid Doesn’t Explain This Many Quitters in the UK says:

Even as the country slides into a recession, Britain has too many job vacancies and too few workers willing or able to fill them. Unemployment is at record lows, but at least half a million more Britons are out of the workforce and not looking for work than before Covid-19, putting the UK on track to be the only advanced country next year with employment below pre-pandemic levels...

Most advanced countries saw large numbers leave the workforce during Covid, but for the most part, these workers went back into employment. That wasn’t the case in Britain. The Bank of England’s Jonathan Haskel, speaking in October, noted the stark difference between the UK and most of its peers: Levels of inactivity fell by 0.7 percentage points in the median OECD (advanced nation) economy between 2019 and the first quarter of this year, while the UK saw inactivity rise by the same amount. This would “hold UK growth back,” Haskel noted...

One common explanation is that Long Covid is to blame. The Office for National Statistics estimates almost 2 million people in the UK had Long Covid by May 2022, and nearly three-quarters reported being limited by the condition. But this likely only explains a small slice of the inactivity. The Institute for Fiscal Studies estimates that only about one in 10 people who develop Long Covid stop working — most go on sick leave rather than leaving their jobs entirely.

The gradual build-up of broader health problems, including mental health issues and the lack of timely access to care in the UK, probably explains more of the picture. The ONS found that 18% of older workers who became inactive during the pandemic are on an NHS waiting list; and people waiting for medical treatment tend to have lower employment rates than those receiving treatment.

Many workers cite early retirement or other reasons for quitting (especially workers over 65), but with the exception of a brief period at the end of 2020, the overriding reason people out of the workforce give is poor health. David Finch, assistant director at the Health Foundation and co-author of a recent report on health and economic inactivity, notes that it’s often difficult to unpick reasons for inactivity because of how surveys are worded and because some workers may have multiple reasons for inactivity...

While older workers who retire are historically very unlikely to return to work, surveys suggest many would consider resuming employment under the right conditions. More efforts to recruit and retain older workers, whether with more flexible working or retraining, can help that process.

We should also be careful about glorifying employment too much. Many older workers who can afford it choose to be “inactive,” statistically speaking, but are highly involved in their communities, caring for family members or providing other crucial support roles. And with taxes at their highest level since WWII, the financial case for remaining at their desks is harder to make now.[27]

If only the slothful, godless citizens of the UK rolled up their sleeves, put on their thinking caps and developed a better healthcare system like the Swiss did

The prosperous country of Swizerland has one of the highest rates of creationism in Europe.[28]

The Swiss healthcare system is one of the top healthcare systems in the world in terms of quality.[29]

If the citizens of the UK wanted a better healthcare system than the National Health Service and one as good as Switzerland's they would get off their butts, put on their thinking caps and create such a healthcare system. But they are too lazy to do so!

Godless, lazy Brits: A lesson in deductive logic

"Dr. Watson, I have deduced that "Singapore on the Thames" will not happen unless the British study harder and work harder. It so elementary my dear Watson. Last time I checked, the Singaporeans were not members of the European Union so Brexit is not the core issue as far as Britain having a lackluster economy." - Sherlock Holmes

Question: Unlike the UK, in 2017, Switzerland's per capita income was ranked in top 10 countries.[30] Has Swizterland ever been a member of the European Union? No it has not. Godless Brits, when are you going to stop engaging in "excusitis" and blaming Brexit for all your economic woes? Get your rear in gear and stop whining!

According to the leading science news website Phys.org:

Believing in God can help block anxiety and minimize stress, according to new University of Toronto research that shows distinct brain differences between believers and non-believers.

In two studies led by Assistant Psychology Professor Michael Inzlicht, participants performed a Stroop task - a well-known test of cognitive control - while hooked up to electrodes that measured their brain activity.

Compared to non-believers, the religious participants showed significantly less activity in the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC), a portion of the brain that helps modify behavior by signaling when attention and control are needed, usually as a result of some anxiety-producing event like making a mistake. The stronger their religious zeal and the more they believed in God, the less their ACC fired in response to their own errors, and the fewer errors they made...

Their findings show religious belief has a calming effect on its devotees, which makes them less likely to feel anxious about making errors or facing the unknown.[34]

The prestigious Mayo Clinic found that religious involvement and spirituality are associated with better physical health, mental health, health-related quality of life and other health outcomes.[35]

Until the 1970s the scientific consensus was wrong on how lions killed their prey.[36] The Bible was correct regarding how lions killed their prey.[37]

The Telegraph reported: "Patients with a strong “intrinsic faith” (a deep personal belief, not just a social inclination to go to a place of worship) recover 70 per cent faster from depression than those who are not deeply religious." (see also: Atheism and depression).[38] The prestigious Mayo Clinic found that religious involvement and spirituality are associated with better physical health, mental health, health-related quality of life and other health outcomes.[35]

The Apostle Paul and the other disciples of Jesus Christ went through severe persecution and hardship without mentally breaking down (2 Corinthians 11:25-28). According to Dr. Ernest Liang at Houston Baptist University, resilience is a hallmark of Christian character.[39]

On the other hand, the election of Donald Trump upset many secular leftists to the degree that it caused them depression and mental illness (see: Secular leftists and psychogenic illness and Atheism and depression and Atheism and suicide).

On October 2, 2019, the atheist David Silverman indicated the experience of being accused of sexual harassment, being fired from the American Atheists organization and losing many of his former atheist friends caused him a "horrific level of pain" that "damaged" him and that he now has textbook symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.[40] In addition, he did have suicidal thoughts.[41] Furthermore, he says he now takes medication and he is still a damaged person.[42] Silverman formerly served as the president of the American Atheists organization. Silverman told atheist David Smalley in an interview that he suffers from depression and that he doubts his self-worth.[43]

When asked if he believes in God, the atheist/agnostic Jordan Peterson responded: "I think the proper response to that is No, but I'm afraid He might exist".[44] In 2019, the New York Post published an article Jordan Peterson enters rehab after wife’s cancer diagnosis which indicated "The “12 Rules for Life” author has sought help trying to get off the anti-anxiety drug clonazepam".[45]

The British New Atheist Richard Dawkins is a pantywaist who is afraid to debate

See also: Richard Dawkins and debate and Atheism debates and Evidence for Christianity

Richard Dawkins
Richard Dawkins declared "Christianity may actually be our best defence against aberrant forms of religion that threaten the world".[46][47] See also: Richard Dawkins and Islam

Richard Dawkins is a new atheist and agnostic (See: Richard Dawkins and agnosticism).

Richard Dawkins has established a reputation for avoiding debates with his strongest opponents. On May 14, 2011, the British newspaper The Daily Telegraph published a news story entitled Richard Dawkins accused of cowardice for refusing to debate existence of God.[3]

As noted above, in The Daily Telegraph article Dr. Daniel Came, a member of the Faculty of Philosophy at Oxford University, was quoted as writing to fellow atheist Richard Dawkins concerning his refusal to debate Dr. William Lane Craig: "The absence of a debate with the foremost apologist for Christian theism is a glaring omission on your CV and is of course apt to be interpreted as cowardice on your part."[3]

In October 2011, Dr. Craig went to England and the Daily Telegraph declared that Dawkins is either a fool or a coward for his refusal to debate William Lane Craig plus declared that Dawkins is a "proud man" and a "coward" who puts on an "illiterate, angry schtick" for the public.[48] In addition, Christian apologist Mariano Grinbank called Dawkins a "cowardly clown" because Dawkins and other prominent atheists refused to debate Creation Ministries International at the 2010 Global Atheist Convention.[49]

As far as Dawkins and his comfort level around professional philosophers, the atheist philosopher Massimo Pigliucci wrote:

Interestingly, over lunch during one of those days, I experienced Dawkins in what is a rather uncharacteristically humble mood: he confided at our table that he felt a bit intimidated, being surrounded by so many professional philosophers (he wasn’t talking about me, I assure you, but more likely of Dan Dennett and Alex Rosenberg, among others). It was interesting to see that rather unexpected (from his public appearances) side of him.[50]

Below are some resources relating to Dawkins refusal to debate various debate opponents:

In addition, respected biochemist and intelligent design researcher Dr Michael Behe has openly challenged prominent evolutionists and proponents of Darwinism to debate him regarding the many failings of evolutionism, yet Richard Dawkins - one of the most outspoken Darwinists today - has declined all such invitations. Dawkins has also refused to debate prominent creationist and evangelist Ray Comfort.

Richard Dawkins' former fear of criticizing Islam

On February 24, 2013, the Jewish Chronicle Online wrote:

In a recent Al-Jazeerah interview, Richard Dawkins was asked his views on God. He argued that the god of "the Old Testament" is "hideous" and "a monster", and reiterated his claim from The God Delusion that the God of the Torah is the most unpleasant character "in fiction". Asked if he thought the same of the God of the Koran, Dawkins ducked the question, saying: "Well, um, the God of the Koran I don't know so much about."

How can it be that the world's most fearless atheist, celebrated for his strident opinions on the Christian and Jewish Gods, could profess to know so little about the God of the Koran? Has he not had the time? Or is Professor Dawkins simply demonstrating that most crucial trait of his species: survival instinct.[51]

In recent times, Richard Dawkins is an outspoken critic of Islam (see: Richard Dawkins and Islam).

Richard Dawkins lacks machismo

machismo
If the agnostic Richard Dawkins finally agreed to debate Dr. William Lane Craig and a scientist at Creation Ministries International instead of making pitiful excuses, would Hispanic ladies finally believe Señor Dawkins has machismo?[52] Olé! Olé! Olé!

Hispanic women are infrequent visitors to Señor Dawkins' website.[53][54] It is because he lacks machismo.

"The lack of lady presence is so visible that Conservapedia commented on it by noting that Dawkins’ website overwhelmingly attracts male visitors." - Monica Shores, Ms. Magazine[55]

See also: Essay: Does Richard Dawkins have machismo?

Question: Is the agnostic and evolutionist Richard Dawkins a man filled with courage, truth, and conviction or a man who is a cowardly, pseudointellectual pantywaist?

To help answer this question, consider this excerpt from Richarddawkins.net that was quoted from a column at Independent.ie: "So Mary Kenny thinks that there are more atheist men than women, and that this is the result of some sort of attempt at overt manliness on their part. She really must try to pay attention - to Richard Dawkins, for example whom one could hardly describe as being the epitome of machismo."[56][57]

Señor Dawkins is not the epitome of machismo? Why might this be the case? Was this unfortunate situation caused by nature? Was it caused by nurture? Is it merely a reflection of his free will?

Hispanic women are infrequent visitors to Señor Dawkins' website (See: Demographic makeup of web visitors to the website Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science). It is because he lacks machismo. A very telling quote: "The lack of lady presence is so visible that Conservapedia commented on it by noting that Dawkins’ website overwhelmingly attracts male visitors." - Monica Shores, Ms. Magazine[58]

One of the definitions of machismo is an "exhilarating sense of power or strength".[59] Concerning Richard Dawkins' work, it would be very difficult for Señor Dawkins to have and exhilarating sense of power or strength. On June 28, 2022 The Guardian published the article Do we need a new theory of evolution? The beginning of the article is absolutely splendid and starts out: "A new wave of scientists argues that mainstream evolutionary theory needs an urgent overhaul... Strange as it sounds, scientists still do not know the answers to some of the most basic questions about how life on Earth evolved." Correct me if I am wrong evolutionists, but The Guardian isn't written by zealous, religious fundamentalists. By in large, The Guardian is written by secular, politically left-leaning evolutionists. And it is headquartered in the UK which is the country that is the fountainhead of Darwinism and had Charles Darwin on its currency.

The British Humanist Association is full of pantywaists who are afraid to debate the Christian apologist William Lane Craig

Sam Harris once described William Lane Craig as “the one Christian apologist who has put the fear of God into many of my fellow atheists”.[60]

See also: Atheism and Debate

In August 19, 2011, Fox News reported:

American Evangelical theologian William Lane Craig is ready to debate the rationality of faith during his U.K tour this fall, but it appears that some atheist philosophers are running shy of the challenge.

This month president of the British Humanist Association, Polly Toynbee, pulled out of an agreed debate at London’s Westminster Central Hall in October, saying she “hadn’t realized the nature of Mr. Lane Craig’s debating style.”

Lane Craig, who is a professor of philosophy at Talbot School of Theology in La Mirada, Calif., and author of 30 books and hundreds of scholarly articles, is no stranger to the art of debate and has taken on some of the great orators, such as famous atheists Christopher Hitchens and Sam Harris. Harris once described Craig as “the one Christian apologist who has put the fear of God into many of my fellow atheists”.

Responding to Toynbee’s cancellation, Lane Craig commented: "These folks (atheists) can be very brave when they are alone at the podium and there's no one there to challenge them. But one of the great things about these debates is that, it allows both sides to be heard on a level playing field, and for the students in the audience to make up their own minds about where they think the truth lies."[60]

On August 19, 2011, the leading British Anglican weekly newspaper the Church Times wrote:

The director of Professor Craig’s tour, Peter May, said: “If Craig is ‘wrong about everything else in the universe’ and his arguments for the existence of God are so easy to refute, it is hard to see why the leading atheist voices in the country are running shy of having a debate with him.

“Rather than hurling ad hominem attacks on Craig from their bunkers, it would be good to see these figures come forward to rationally defend the atheism they publicly espouse.”[61]

The UK's and Britain's pantwaists approach to the coronavirus pandemic

In July of 2021, Der Spiegel indicated that Finland was the best at handling the coronavirus pandemic based on an index based on excess mortality, restrictions on people's lives and liberty, GDP performance and vaccination coverage.[62] See: An observation about the countries that handled the coronavirus pandemic well so far. And let's look at Finland.

While Finland did a decent job of handling the coronavirus, sadly the coronavirus pandemic turned the British into bigger pantywaists than they were before the pandemic which is something I thought wasn't even possible! But they managed to do it!

City Journal is one of the world's premier urban-policy magazines, “the Bible of the new urbanism,” as London’s Daily Telegraph puts it.[63]

Great Britain

In Autumn of 2021, Lionel Shriver published the article The Most Frightened Nation with the byline Why the United Kingdom will never be the same which stated:

What was once the land of “keep calm and carry on” could now be the “most frightened nation in the world.” So says Laura Dodsworth, author of A State of Fear: How the UK Government Weaponised Fear During the Covid-19 Pandemic. Data seem to bear her impression out. According to an Ipsos MORI poll conducted in July, an impressive 27 percent of Britons want to impose a government-mandated nationwide curfew of 10 PM—not then in force—“until the pandemic was under control worldwide,” which might be years from now. A not-inconsiderable 19 percent would impose such a curfew “permanently, regardless of the risk from Covid-19.” Presumably, these are people who don’t get out much. While 64 percent want Britain’s mask mandate in shops and on public transport to remain a legal requirement for the duration of the global pandemic, an astounding 51 percent want to be masked by law, forever.

There’s more: some 35 percent want to confine any Briton who returns from a foreign country, vaccinated or not, to a ten-day home quarantine—permanently, Covid or no Covid. A full 46 percent would require a vaccine passport in order to travel abroad—permanently, Covid or no Covid. So young people today would still be flashing that QR code on whatever passes for smartphones in 2095, though they might have trouble displaying the device to a flight attendant while bracing on their walkers. Likewise, the 36 percent who want to be required to check in at pubs and restaurants with a National Health Service contact-tracing app forever. A goodly 34 percent want social distancing in “theatres, pubs and sports grounds,” regardless of any risk of Covid, forever. A truly astonishing 26 percent of Britons would summarily close all casinos and nightclubs forever. Are these just a bunch of fogies who don’t go clubbing anyway? No. In the 16-to-24 age bracket, the proportion of Brits who want to convert Ronnie Scott’s jazz club in London’s Soho into a community lending library, even after Covid is a distant memory, soars to a staggering 40 percent.

Far from yearning for their historic liberties as “free-born Englishmen,” eight out of ten of the British, according to a Southbank/Kingston University survey, were “anxious” about lifting any of their benevolent government’s copious pandemic restrictions...

But the most enduring damage to the home of Magna Carta may be political. The transformation of the United Kingdom is permanent. Its citizens can never again characterize lockdowns and other previously unthinkable government edicts, such as “you’re forbidden to leave the country,” as unprecedented. The state has established precedents galore. The public is already being softened up for the return of repressive measures in some form this autumn, even if only to control a surge of flu.

It’s official: British civil liberties are provisional. They can be rescinded at a moment’s notice on the government’s whim. They are privileges, not rights. The anything-but-inalienable “rights” to free expression, to protest, to assembly, to association, to worship, to travel, to work: all require permission slips.[64]

Despite the UK taking a more pantywaist approach to the coronavirus pandemic than Finland, the UK has a higher mortality rate than Finland due to the coronavirus pandemic

As of January 11, 2022, in the UK, deaths per 100,000 people was 316.30 deaths per 100,000 people.[65] As of January 11, 2022, in Finland, which has given much more liberty to its citizens, deaths per 100,000 people was 149.13 deaths per 100,000 people.[66]

A side note about the UK and British

I have some British ancestry and have some admiration for some of the cultural achievements of the British. For example, I could point to Methodism, the book Pilgrim's Progress, the King James Bible, the works of C.S. Lewis, William Shakespeare's works, the Magna Carta, common law and the works of Charles Dickens.

At the same time, post Charles Darwin Britain is less admirable in some ways than what came before it. And sometimes I needle British atheists, agnostics and evolutionists and/or people who are fans of such people, but I endeavor to do it in a good-natured way. For example, I wrote the essay: Does Richard Dawkins have machismo?.

The flag of the United Kingdom.
John Wesley was the founder of Methodism.
