Derek Chauvin trial

Some people do not believe that Derek Chauvin received a fair trial. I count myself among that number.

The testimony of two witnesses establishes a fact - Deut. 19:15.

To demonstrate the sheer futility of trying to have a conversation with some people whose brains are embalmed with ignorance, stubbornness, and stupidity, I will try to thumbnail a telephone conversation I had with someone who called me up to tell me what a bad guy Derek Chauvin was during Chauvin's trial.

The caller alleged, which I have no reason to doubt, that a few years back he was in Minneapolis on business and evidently was staying in or near Derek Chauvin's beat. Chauvin was alleged to have accosted him once or twice, as I recall, which I believe is entirely plausible. The caller claimed, the first time was for J-walking, and the second time was at a convenience store after dark about 10 o'clock at night in a high crime area. These he alleged were proof positive that Chauvin was a bad guy with no respect for other people's rights.

Why the caller called me with this information, I have no idea; possibly cause I may have voiced criticism of the trial in CP. But evidently, I was suppose to agree with him, based upon his word, that Chauvin was not only just a bad guy, but a bad guy toward white people, as well.

I attempted to point out, that in police work, what is considered good police work in an assigned area is for the cop to familiarize himself with the people living in the area he is assigned to, and the people he is suppose to protect - routine police work, rather than sitting on their butt and paying no attention to what is happening on their beat; and when a strange face shows up in a high crime, drug infested area (particularly from out-of-state, as allegedly, as I recall, the "victim" in this case was carded and ID'd with an out-of-state driver license when busted earlier for J-walking) after dark at a known drug trafficking location. "NO! NO! NO!", he began screaming into the phone, he didn't want to hear anymore of it. His lawbreaking for J-walking was entirely justified, and Chauvin had violated his rights by busting him, ID'ing him, and not writing him a ticket for the violation. Chauvin was a bad guy, even to white people, and that was that. I was suppose to agree with him, and that was that.

Needless to say, even though he never allowed me to finish my spiel about what is considered "good police work" because of his screaming at me on the phone, I began to doubt if live phone contact was any more rational than interacting with him on the internet. Disclosure: I have a brother who lives three blocks from where the George Floyd incident took place, and I myself in the 1980s lived briefly behind the Cub Food Store that was burnt down in the riots. The police precinct station that was burnt down was in that immediate vicinity as well, but I think it must've been built many years after I left. So I am well enough familiar with the area of Chauvin's beat, and where the caller was accosted by Chauvin twice.RobSGive Peace a Chance! 18:30, August 21, 2023 (EDT)

I was never accosted by the now ex-policeman Derek Chauvin and the accuracy of the other material above was also poor (Likely intentionally poor in some instances or in some cases the result of poor listening skills). I did go to convenience store after midnight (Sometimes I returned from work late due to interstate travel and perhaps this was one of those times). Chauvin said to me inside the convenience store, "Kind of late to be out isn't?". I politely and assertively told him, "No.". By the way, last time I checked, convenience stores are lawful businesses that often operate past midnight! Chauvin was very fortunate that I sometimes worked late as policemen are paid out of taxes!
Also, at the time I was questioned by Derek Chauvin, I was a top 10% performer for an independent contractor position I did for a national company. That is why the president of the company asked me to stop by his office when I was working in his state as I made him a lot of money. Sometimes being a top performer requires one to work late. Apparently, Chauvin is not aware of this, despite working as a policeman where "collars" are often done past midnight! Well, Chauvin has plenty of time now to reflect on the fact that the United States is not a police state because Chauvin is in prison! On the other hand, I am as free as a bird!
Lastly, upon further reflection, when Chauvin asked me, "Kind of late to be out?", I shouldn't have given him a polite, brief, and assertive "no". God bless America. God bless the Bill of Rights. And thank God for the 5th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. I should have decided to ignore him and remain silent. Don't talk to the police!, Regent University School of Law. Conservative (talk) 14:05, January 26, 2025 (EST)
By the way, I have a person in my family who was a highly ranked police offer. He told me that Derek Chauvin could have done a much better job as far as his arrest of George Floyd as far as his use of force. And a jury of his peers convicted Derek Chauvin. While I believe the trial was not perfect, I believe my relative was correct and he should know as he supervised many police officers and had a lot of collars in a high crime area of the city he was a policeman in. Conservative (talk) 14:27, January 26, 2025 (EST)
If you weren't hanging out in a high crime area past midnite in Minneapolis, after the cop knew you weren't a resident of the neighborhood it was his duty to protect, you wouldn't have had a run in with him.
Bottomline (like so many other things) you don't know what good police work is. RobSThe Truth. Just Putin It Out There 14:35, January 26, 2025 (EST)
Was I hanging out in a high crime area or was a simply making a quick visit to a convenience store after my workday? And I didn't have a "run in" with him at the time. I simply replied "No" to him and I didn't even have to do that according to 5th Ammendment of the U.S. Constitution. Conservative (talk) 14:41, January 26, 2025 (EST)
Convict Derek Chauvin
According to you, you had 2 encounters with him on his beat, defending the people he was sworn to protect. You were an out-of-towner. That's called proactive police work when he spotted you violating the law. RobSThe Truth. Just Putin It Out There 14:45, January 26, 2025 (EST)

Given your multiple errant reporting of the events above (Some of which I believe was intentional), I have no intention of wasting time correcting all your errant reporting or comment on it further. The bottom line is that Chauvin is in jail and I am not! Also, you are the frequent yeller on phone calls and I am not! I will never talk to you on the phone again.

By the way, I trust my relative who was a highly ranked police officer about the poor conduct of Derek Chauvin (Chauvin had several reports of his bad behavior in his file before the George Floyd incident) over someone who praises the authoritarian/corrupt countries of China and Russia. Conservative (talk) 14:52, January 26, 2025 (EST)

You can clarify matters now. Did you have 2 encounters with Chauvin, one for J-walking (in which he ID'd you as a nonresident out-of-towner and mercifully did not write a ticket) and a second encounter after midnite in a location the entire planet now knows to be a high crime, drug trafficking area? I never told you that. I do recall asking you twice during a phone to repeat a portion of a phone call because I didn't believe you were listening to me. Was the convenience store in a high-crime area? If it was such a high-crime area, then why was Derek Chauvin wasting his time asking a lawful convenience store customer if he thought it was too late to be out? A real cop would have been looking for actual criminals! Chauvin was a bad cop who thought we live in a police state and now he is in jail! Case closed! The jury has made its ruling! It is important for policeman to defend lawful businesses in their area - not needlessly hassle their lawful customers. Conservative (talk) 19:16, January 26, 2025 (EST)
Deny the fact that Derek Chauvin in jail and that I am not and lose all credibility! Being a Minnesotan, it's too bad that Derek Chauvin didn't practice Minnesota nice more often. If he did, he wouldn't be in prison! Police officers and people in general should endeavor to deescalate situations if possible and not escalate them. On the question of a pardon

Donald Trump has not pledged to Pardon Derek Chauvin Over George Floyd's Murder. And Trump is a big supporter of the police! Conservative (talk) 15:56, January 26, 2025 (EST)
Yah, that was something I was just thinking about, too. Given the nature of the offense, a pardon is not off the table at the end of Trump's second term. Leonard Peltier, at the age of 80, sentence was just commuted by Biden for killing 2 FBI agents.
Then we also have the case of Snowden, who didn't kill anybody. With the release of the JFK files, when the entire planet discovers the preeminent power "for the foreseeable future" whacked its own president and our history has been one gigantic lie, Snowden could be pardoned much sooner than at the end of Trump's term. Case closed on the editor's vindictiveness

I believe the evidence presented here leads any rational, independent persons to conclude the editor in question maintains, as of January 2025, a vindictive attitude toward Mr. Derek Chauvin simply because he, Chauvin, in performance of his law enforcement duties ID'd the editor for J-walking (even though Chauvin did not cite the offender) but more importantly for asking him, "A little late to be out?" at a convenience store in a high crime area.

Personally, rather than plead the 5th Amendment when interrogated by Chauvin at a known drug trafficking location, I would have responded simply, "Yes. It's scary". RobSThe Truth. Just Putin It Out There 15:51, January 26, 2025 (EST)

Sinophobia?

As for Conservative's insertions on China's residents and the consumption of unclean meats, I would definitely contend that he is in no way a bigoted Sinophobe, rather hasty in how he phrases sentences. I believe his intended criticism was the atheistic Chinese culture, not collectively attacking Chinese people simply because a fraction of them in some regions, as my mother told me years ago, may engage in bizarre practices of eating "exotic delicacies" or whatever. —LT Rev. 22:13 Wednesday, 10:56, September 20, 2023 (EDT)

PubMed Central journal article: "Gutter oil is a type of cooking oil recycled from the gutter, household drains and grease traps. It may also contain other wastes including reused cooking oil from restaurant fryers and kitchens, and animal fat (e.g. leftover animal parts, chicken fat, pig skins, internal organs, and expired meat, which are mainly from slaughterhouses)".[2] "The short documentary details the illegal production and sale of so-called "gutter oil," a cooking oil made from restaurant sewer refuse and rotten animal fat that is refined and then sold, mostly to small restaurants and street food vendors." - Bloomberg News, October 29, 2013.[3] "Chinese call it "gutter oil" — a foul slop fished up from sewage drains or collected at restaurant back doors — and it's being used widely in the country's eateries." - Fox News, 2010.[4] "Recycled food oil" known in China as “gutter oil” because it is scooped up from sewage drains or collected at restaurant back doors is apparently being used widely in the country’s eateries." - Foodservice Equipment Reports, January 3, 2011.[5] "A new cooking-oil scandal has erupted in China, about a decade after the country's infamous crackdown on restaurants reusing gutter oil and sewage grease."- Business Insider, 2024.[6] "Gutter oil typically comes from a variety of food waste sources, including sewer drains, grease traps, discarded animal parts and restaurant oil dumps. Once extracted, the foul-smelling slop is mixed, boiled at high temperature and sold to food vendors throughout China at significantly discounted rates." - Southern Green Industries, 2022[7]
Chinese gutter oil was tainted with sewage. At the same time, I could have been more precise via a fuller explanation giving all the details and not merely used the summary explanation of "gutter oil is made from processed sewage".
Consuming gutter oil can have negative consequences on people's health. According to experts, gutter oil is extremely toxic and riddled with carcinogens, like aflatoxin and benzopyrene. Consuming gutter oil can also lead to diabetes, heart disease, Alzheimer's and developmental problems in children.[8]
In 2015, Yeh Wen-hsiang, who was the chairman of a Taiwanese company, was sentenced to 22 years imprisonment and fined the equivalent of $1.6 million for selling 243 tonnes of gutter oil. And the mainland Chinese have begun to crack down on gutter oil sales more post 2010 too. However, "Food safety articles funded by PRC provincial science grants attribute continued difficulties in regulatory enforcement to the decentralized nature of the logistics chain, inadequate national infrastructure for disposal/recycling, and frequent innovations in visually and chemically disguising gutter oil."[9]

Concerning the lame stupidity charge against me. It one of the lamest claims I have ever seen in my life. And it is a direct violation of Conservapedia's civility rules. Given that you created Team CP which supposedly is focused on civility and the fact that you only got one person to sign up, this is not surprising. And the one person who signed up for Team CP, voted in favor of me in the only dispute he voted on between us.

Furthermore, based on my college entrance scores and a table that correlates college entrance exams with a person's IQ and other data, I estimate my IQ is in the top 5% of people.

In addition, high IQ people accept logical conclusions, but you constantly use logical fallacies. Also, people who do not have a very high IQ frequently engage in either/or thinking and partisan thinking. High IQ people are more inclined towards probabilistic thinking and balancing between seemingly paradoxical possibilities and integrating various views when possible. You on the other hand engage in Russia/China cheerleading. In addition, people who don't have very high IQs often attempt to rationalize their errors. People with very high IQs see no point in hesitating to admit them. Your protracted failure to admit your error in the Bill Browder article which is documented in the article's talk page, clearly shows that are extremely resistant to admit errors. You told me that Russia was a fabulous place to live. I showed it wasn't and clearly demonstrated via a lot of data (including a large study on people's happiness in various countries) that a great deal of Russians are unhappy compared to people in other developed countries (See: Essay: Are the Russians as unhappy as they claim they are?). Rather than admit you were wrong about Russia which would be the intelligent thing to do, you are extremely hesitant to admit your error. In short, you are hardly in a position to charge someone else with stupidity.
Furthermore, Professor John Mearsheimer (who predicted the war in Ukraine significantly before it occurred) says the probability of a nuclear war is very low, but it is higher than in the past. Of course, I would like it to be zero, but at least it's not high and very low. I am not going to be chicken little and cry the sky is falling when it is not. So I suggest you get a grip on yourself and stop your incessant cries of WWWIII and/or a nuclear war is around the corner. High IQ people tend to have higher emotional intelligence and don't wet their pants when the probability of unlikely deleterious/horrible events increases. While I think the probability of WWIII has gone up in my lifetime, Mearsheimer agrees with me that while it is higher than in the past it is unlikely.
