Hatzola is a Jewish volunteer emergency medical service that provides free rapid-response care and transportation to hospitals, serving both Jewish and non-Jewish residents in London.[1] The vehicles were stationed outside a synagogue in the Golders Green area, which has a significant Jewish population.[2]
Incident
At approximately 1:40 a.m. GMT, multiple ambulances parked outside the synagogue were deliberately set ablaze by suspected arsonists.[3] Investigators believe accelerants were used, and CCTV footage reportedly shows three individuals igniting the vehicles before fleeing the scene.[4]
The fire triggered explosions from onboard oxygen or gas cylinders, damaging nearby buildings and shattering windows.[5] Around 40 firefighters and multiple fire engines responded to the incident.[6] No injuries were reported, though residents were temporarily displaced.[7]
Investigation
The Metropolitan Police classified the incident as an antisemitic hate crime and assigned the case to counterterrorism officers.[8] Authorities have been reviewing CCTV footage and searching for suspects.[9]
A Muslim group identifying itself as the Ashab al-Yamin Islamic Movement of the People of the Right Hand reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack, though police stated that the authenticity of the claim had not been verified.[10] It is Islamic fascist Republic of Iran linked.[11]

The attack was widely condemned by political and religious leaders. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer described it as a “deeply shocking antisemitic arson attack” and affirmed that antisemitism has no place in British society.[12]
Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis called the incident a “particularly sickening assault” on an organization dedicated to saving lives.[13]
Local officials and community leaders described the attack as an assault on the broader community and expressed concern over rising antisemitism in the United Kingdom.[14] London mayor, himself Muslim: "Dark day for London."[15] Stressing that these attacks are for the sole reason of being Jews.
