Not to be confused with LGB which stands for Let's Go Brandon.

LGBTQ+ or LGBT for short are several acronyms intended to represent all current varieties of non-heterosexual sexual orientations. This acronym stands for Lesbian, Gay (or Genderqueer), Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (or Questioning), Intersex, Asexual (or Aromantic or Ally), Polyamorous (or pansexual) and Kink.[2] There seems to be some minor disagreement over what each letter means, while others just add in multiples of each letter to include them all.[3]
Some also say that even this is not a suitably detailed list, because other terms such as Agender, Bigender, Trigender, Pangender, Polygender, Cis, Gender Apathetic, Demigender are not included.[3] To be more "all-inclusive" and avoid causing someone to think someone else might be offended, sometimes a plus sign is added on the end of whatever acronym is used, to represent those not listed.

A Gallup poll released in February 2022 shows that "7.1% of American adults identify as LGBTQ+, jumping from 3.5% in 2012."[4] The increase was mostly among young adults. Many people regard the LGBT movement as representative of the underlying disintegration of Western civilization.[5] In Eastern Europe the LGBT rainbow flag is colloquially referred to as the "Western flag."

The organization, Gays Against Groomers, opposes the inclusion of transgenders and transsexuals in the LGBT alliance because of longstanding allegations of child grooming and pedophilia within the transgender movement.

In 2023 the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation ruled the LGBTQ+ movement to be an extremist ideology.

The Canadian Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario hosted a "LGGBDTTTIQQAAPP inclusiveness training" on June 6, 2017. This was the first appearance of what was at the time, the longest version of such an acronym. The acronym was used somewhat facetiously in order to publicize the training. The EFTO stated that "the intent of the title was to draw workshop participants (teachers) by acknowledging that keeping track of diverse LGBTQ identities can be overwhelming, especially as our students are continuously identifying new ones. In our union, we use LGBTQ as an umbrella term for all marginalized sexual and gender identities."[6] Facebook recognizes 58 genders as of last count.[7]
