Semi-presidential republic

A semi-presidential republic is a type of government that combines elements of both presidential and parliamentary systems. France, Azerbaijan, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Haiti, Mauritania, Namibia, Portugal, Sri Lanka, Ukraine are among the nations with a Semi-presidential republic form of government. Executive power is shared between a directly elected President and a Prime Minister, who is responsible to the legislature.
