Gentlemen: Pursuant to your request for nomination of additional American Heroes, I wish to nominate Mrs. Phyllis Stewart Schlafly (1924-2016). Mrs. Schafly was a graduate of Washington Univ. Law School. She wrote the influential book "A Voice Not an Echo". Her activism lead to the defeat of the Equal Rights Amendment, resulting in greater freedoms for both men and women. She also founded and lead the Eagle Forum.
