IMDb profile |
The Fellowship of the Ring is a 2001 film directed by Peter Jackson adapting J.R.R. Tolkien's popular book by the same name. The film was well-received by both the audience and critics, with an 8.8 IMDb rating and 91% on Rotten Tomatoes. The film received twelve Oscar nominations, and won four, including "Best Original Score". The film made significant departures from the book, most notably in the Fellowship of the Ring is the absence of Tom Bombadil. The film also expanded other portions, such as Saruman the White's treachery.
