These 9 Protestant/evangelical Christianity dominated states are among the states with the highest percentage of dog owners: Arkansas, Kentucky, Missouri, West Virginia, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Texas, Oklahoma.[1][2] New Mexico is a Catholic dominated state and it is also among the top 10 states in terms of the percentage of dog owners.[3][4]
