Offshoring is the movement of jobs by businesses offshore to foreign countries where labor rates are cheaper and there are fewer regulations. This is also known as "outsourcing" when the destination is offshore. Many manufacturing jobs move from the United States to foreign countries in this manner.

== Experinces of Europe ==

Thanks to a large number of off shoring projects Europe has experienced a change in its entire economy, manufacturing has been largely moved to Asia but this has steadily been replaced by what is called "The knowledge based economy". Anti-Off shoring groups have hailed this as a catastrophe. Though this has not been borne out by Employment figures or GDP calculations.

It is important to note that there has been a strong backlash to this off shoring within the UK and some companies (National Westminster Bank (RBS), insurance firm Norwich Union, Aviva (Returning 150 out of 7000 jobs) and Powergen) reversing the decision within the UK.

Hertfordshire has changed a bit since this article was created so a quick couple of corrections :

Hatfield - No longer has any aerospace industry at all, this closed down over a decade ago and has been replaced by a larger better equipped University of Hertfordshire which consolidated its entire set of campus's (Several existed in Hertford, Watford and Borehamwood) into a single new campus on the aerospace site. Has to be noted St Albans retained the law school.

Letchworth has a full name : Letchworth Garden City

You left off one of Hertfordshire's biggest towns Stevenage

Stevenage is home to the UK's Satellite/Space industry.

It would be great if this article was updated to state that this institution is most certainly not an institution for the poor. It costs in excess of £26,000 per year - At the moment equating to around $53,000 per school year - This is not reflected in your article and really should be.

It might also be welcome to note the high % of British MP's who have attended this school and Harrow - A Fact that is causing democratic issues within the British system - To name a few Ex Etonian's :

23-OCT-2007 - It has to be said your section on Religion leaves a lot to be desired. For a start Religion plays very little part of the daily life of the English; and It has to be noted most of the English are not practising anything and are in fact rather hostile to organised religions, though not the individuals who practise. To state anything otherwise is a plain untruth no matter what you would like to believe.
