War elephants were a form of cavalry used by the Carthiginians, and by various Indian empires. The former, when used by Hannibal, struck fear in to the Romans who had never heard of War Elephants and did not know how to defeat this menance. Alexander the Great faced 100 war elephants earlier in 326 B.C. when he was crossing the Hydaspes river in India, but unlike the later Romans generals, his military genius improvised how to handle them and sent many of the maddened creatures rushing back through the defenders' lines.

In recent years they have been used in several fantasy movies, including 300 and the film adaptation of Lord of the Rings.
I thought rape was just unwanted penetration. Like someone giving you a "wet willy". o_0 Fuzzy 11:36, 26 February 2008 (EST)
Rape and the Bible
Since the Bible is the source of our morality, our articles on crimes and other offensive activities tend to cite the Bible. Shouldn't we do the same thing here, especially since the Bible has so much to say on rape? DavidE 18:09, 7 December 2007 (EST)
:I agree. The subject isn't complete without a reference to Sodom and Gomorrah, with Lot willing to give his virgin daughters to appease an insane mob. The Bible speaks volumes on rape, but sadly it is restricted by PC liberals. JKaplanek 12:59, 26 February 2008 (EST)
Underdevelopment
How come this article (if it could even be called that in the loosest of terms) is so underdeveloped? Why aren't there links to other abuse pages (which upon further investigation I found only existed in the same state this article is in, or else did not exist) when it's obvious they are completely connected? If there is no way to build on these pages (sexual abuse, molestation, dubious consent, etc), then why haven't they simply been grouped together on one page? : This is a family-friendly encyclopaedia, and topics such as this are difficult to treat in a family-friendly way. However, that does not mean that it can't be expanded. You can propose changes here, or if you'd prefer to make the changes yourself, I'd be happy to unlock the page after you've become more established and shown yourself to be a good editor. Your edits to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder were a good start (apart from unnecessary capitalisation and changing British to American spelling). [[User:Philip J. Rayment|Philip J.
