The ''' Los Angeles Dodgers ''' are a [[Major League Baseball]] team in the [[National League]] Western Division. They started out in 1883 as the [[Brooklyn]] Dodgers, briefly playing in the American Association. They changed names several times in their first few years, going from the Atlantics, to the Grays, to the Bridegrooms, before finally settling on the Dodgers. (A reference to having to dodge the trollies in New York.) In 1890 they switched to the National League. They played well during their time in Brooklyn, winning twelve National League Pennants. Unfortunately, they were largely overshadowed by the success of New York's other two Baseball teams, the Yankees and Giants, who combined won 23 World Series titles compared to Brooklyn's 1 victory.

In 1958, the Dodgers moved to Los Angeles in an attempt to bring the game out west. The Los Angeles Dodgers performed much better, winning 9 National League Pennants and 5 World Series Titles.

They are based in [[Los Angeles]], [[California]] and play at Dodger Stadium.

The '''Portland Trail Blazers''' are a professional [[basketball]] team in the [[National Basketball Association]], based in [[Portland]], [[Oregon]]. They are one of the city's two top-level professional sports franchises, alongside the Portland Timbers of the MLS.

The team started in 1970 as an expansion franchise. They have been to the Finals three times (1977, 1990, and 1992), winning their only title in 1977.

From 1977-1995 the team sold out every home game, a then record in all of professional sports. However, in 1995 the team, in order to quickly rebuild, obtained numerous players with off-court issues; the trend of obtaining problem players continued for over a decade, earning them the nickname "Jail Blazers" and threatening the team's viability in Portland.

The franchise was previously known as the '''Seattle Supersonics''' until they relocated in 2008 after the city of [[Seattle]] refused to build a new arena with taxpayer money. However, as part of the relocation agreement, all franchise records of the Supersonics (including its only NBA championship in 1979) did not come with the relocated franchise (similar to the arrangement when the NFL's original Cleveland Browns franchise relocated to Baltimore and became the Ravens).
