'''Abd al-Aziz Ibn Saud''' ruled [[Saudi Arabia]] from 1905 to 1975. He unified the country beginning in 1902 and then named it after himself. He was the first Monarch of Saudi Arabia and was also known as [[Ibn Sa'ud]].

Abd al-Aziz Ibn Saud was born in Rijadh into the House of Saud, which had historically maintained dominion over interior highlands of Arabia known as Najd. Saud followed his family in exile in Kuwait following the conquest of the family's lands by the Rashidi. The Rashidi were a historic house of the Arabian Peninsula, the most formidable enemies of the House of Saud.

Al Aziz spent the remainder of his childhood in Kuwait. Abd al-Rahman had a stipend from the Turkish government of 60 Turkish pounds a month and Abdul Aziz went on several profitable raids in Najd as he grew into adulthood. He attended the daily Majlis of the Emir of Kuwait, Mubarak al Sabah, from who he learned much about the world. However the families home in Rijadh was of the simplest and cramped by 5 sons and at least one daughter.

His family supported the Wahhabi movement. It is an Islamic movement named after Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhab. In 1924 the ibn Saud of Saudia Arabia who was influenced by the teachings of abdul Wahhab conquered Mecca and Medina, the Muslim holy cities.

Progressive is new term that most [[politician|politicians]] who considered themselves to be [[liberal]] have given themselves. The term came about short before the 2006 elections. It implemented to help distance politicians, mainly [[Democrats]], for the negative history associated with various members of the party at that time. It also was meant to create a belief that [[conservatives]] were not able to think of a progressive future for the [[United States]].

While the term has been popular among the [[media]], most of the population still refers to the two major philosophies as conservative and liberal. The majority opinion of this event is because the current population has a set history with these two titles. Also its easier to visualization the contrasts between conservative and liberal instead of conservative and progressive.

Digg has been accused of being stricter on conservatives’ poster then other groups. Digg has said that it treats all groups equally. In their defense they have said that many of the individuals that were banned were publishing [[hate speech]] such as articles by the [[American Nazi Party]] and outright lies.

Starting at approximately January or 2007 a disproportionate number of posting about [[Ron Paul]] have been showing up on the site's home page. This is due to the fanatical support from Paul's base. The number of articles has been steadily decreasing starting in April of 2007 as Ron Paul is failing to generate significant numbers at various Republican caucuses.
