Covenant Christian Coalition
Did you copy the Covenant Christian Coalition page from another website? --1990&#39;sguy (talk) 12:30, 8 February 2018 (EST)

Hi 1990'sguy, yes, some of it originally came from an old article on Wikipedia, but I updated the content substantially. It could use some improvement though like an infobox and image from Wikimedia Commons, but I don't have upload permissions since I'm a new user. I left a few notes on the article talk page. --UberSmith (talk) 12:38, 8 February 2018 (EST)

:Unfortunately, significant updates or modifications to the work of others is not enough. Unless you have written permission from the original author(s), you cannot republish their work here. You will need to write the content from scratch if it is going to be posted here under your name. As for the upload of an image, you can request that here. I do appreciate your intentions, but even using others' work as a framework for your own still constitutes plagiarism.
:This is spoken about in or rules and manual of style, which are linked to in the standard greeting which I have posted above. (This is your talk page, so feel free to remove the template. However, I suggest that you at least read through Conservapedia:Commandments.
:Thanks, and let me know if there is anything I can do to help! --<font color="ForestGreen">David B</font> (TALK) 13:58, 8 February 2018 (EST)

Ah, I understand the intent of your question now. Yes, most of that is my original work. Parts that were not and parts that were outdated or inaccurate, I have updated. --UberSmith (talk) 17:00, 8 February 2018 (EST)

::Yes:

# I can see that according to those guidelines I would need to rewrite some of this—bear with me as I'm completely new to Conservapedia rules. I left Wikipedia over this issue and several others. That being said, a lot of what I posted on Conservapedia is original and was not copied from Wikipedia.
# There was a very hostile Articles for Deletion nomination at Wikipedia that clearly did not follow the community guidelines. See here, specifically consensus for speedy deletion. I believe it was politically and/or religiously motivated by a single user here. That being said, there was a ridiculous sockpuppet using a couple accounts voting for keep, which changed the whole conversation and caused an admin to delete the article. However, there were several legitimate users voting keep. Most of the specific challenges raised by delete have either since been answered or were mistaken to begin with (such as sources, Google books, news coverage, etc; and the claim that this organization "represents" vs. "recognizes" various Christian groups).

Does that help answer your questions? --UberSmith (talk) 22:15, 8 February 2018 (EST)

:I think they do, though I have to point out that you were the sock (I'm not holding it against you, just so long as you don't do it here, with no exceptions). Also, I have dealt with Anselm on WP, and I have found him to be relatively sane.
:Also, is the article you created, the Gospel, your own work, or is it copied? To be clear, in case you misunderstood, you're not in trouble or anything like that. CP has rules, however, and I'm trying to make sure you're learning and following those rules. --1990&#39;sguy (talk) 22:22, 8 February 2018 (EST)

::Yes, understood. I want to learn and respect the rules and participate here. Forgive me for not being forthright about the sock deceit. You would have every right to hold that against me—I'm a huge proponent of online anonymity and privacy rights, but I need to go about it in a better way. I do stand by the other points though and there were very specific charges in the AfD that were inaccurate or subsequently answered (as well as the issue of not following the guidelines). Also, at the time of the AfD there were few news sources, but now there are quite a few. To answer your last question, that is an original article and should successfully pass any search/check. Blessings. --UberSmith (talk) 22:48, 8 February 2018 (EST)

:::Very well. Please have your Covenant Christian Coalition fixed in the next two-or-so days -- the entire article must be your original work. Thanks! --1990&#39;sguy (talk) 00:06, 9 February 2018 (EST)
Advice
Hello UberSmith, when you create articles, please add categories to them and add as many wikilinks as you appropriately can, as I did here. Also, when you create new articles, I recommend adding links to those new articles in already-existing articles wherever appropriate. That way, you can incorporate your articles into CP. --1990&#39;sguy (talk) 21:48, 10 February 2018 (EST)

:Thank you for the heads up and for improving my article! I'll make sure to add categories on new articles. --UberSmith (talk) 09:57, 12 February 2018 (EST)

The Invisible Church is a Christian—primarily Protestant—belief that the mystical Body of Christ, the church, consists only of those who are inwardly saved, rather than all of those who belong to the external, institutional church. The doctrine emphasizes that salvation does not result from belonging to a particular denomination, church, or sect, but instead comes from a personal, genuine faith and individual regeneration by the Holy Spirit.

This teaching seeks to reconcile various scriptures that at face value promote the doctrine of the security of the elect, such as John 5:24, 10:28–29, 17:9–12, and Romans 8:38–39, with those scriptures that mention those only claiming to belong to the Christian religion while not really being saved (Jm. 2:14; 1 Jn. 2:19; 4:20). In short, the true church consists only of the elect possessing salvation through faith, and the institutional church consists of both the saved and unsaved.

The Invisible Church doctrine, like paedo-Calvinism and justification by faith, has often been attributed to St. Augustine and has found strong persistence in Christian thought. While the belief is more popular in evangelical and Protestant circles and has some critics among Roman Catholic and Orthodox theologians, it is, in one form another, taught in most Christian denominations. Membership requires agreeing with its tenets either de facto or de jure. Pastors and ministers can sign the Covenant and use it as a statement of faith at their church.

Along with the Convictions and the CCC's constitution and bylaws, the Covenant forms the basis for the CCC's organization and doctrine.

Leadership
The Covenant Christian Coalition is led by a voluntary team of church and ministry leaders called the Pastoral Council. The egalitarian Pastoral Council maintains the organization's constitution and votes on amendments to the organization's governing document.
::Yes:

UberSmith: Added The Gospel.

The Gospel is the good news of Jesus Christ—namely His atoning death for mankind's sins, burial, and bodily resurrection from the dead. This is differentiated from the gospels plural, which are the first four books of the Christian New Testament (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John). The word "gospel" literally means "good news" and originally comes from the Greek word εὐαγγέλιον, transliterated euaggelion. The New Testament describes both the gospel of the kingdom and the gospel of salvation. The former refers to the good news that God's Kingdom is entering the world and supplanting the forces of darkness (e.g. Mt. 4:23; 9:35; 24:13; Mk. 1:14). The latter refers to the good news that Jesus Christ has opened the way of salvation for all men through His atoning death, burial, and resurrection (e.g. Acts 15:7; 20:24; Rm. 1:16; 16:25; 1 Cor. 15:1–4). In common Christian parlance, especially within evangelicalism, the latter meaning of "gospel" is what is most often intended.

The gospel is the primary subject in many of the Apostle Paul's epistles to the early churches. The single most explicit definition of the gospel is given in the first eight verses of 1 Corinthians chapter 15:

The Apostle Paul makes seven key assertions about the gospel in his first epistle to the Corinthian church:

# The gospel is the message by which or through which believers are saved.
# The gospel is of "first importance" in Christian belief.
# Christ died for our sins.
# Christ was buried.
# Christ rose bodily from the dead.
# Christ's death and resurrection were the fulfillment of prophetic Scriptures.
# The risen Christ was seen by over 500 different eye-witnesses, including the Apostles and Paul himself.

History
The Covenant Christian Coalition was founded in Dallas, Texas, in 2015 as a response to what was perceived to be biblical, moral, and theological compromise on the part of other ecumenical organizations such as the World Council of Churches.
The organization's mission is "Promoting unity in the Invisible Church while delivering the only message with the power to save people" and is defined as "An international, Evangelical, post-denominational coalition of churches still faithful to Christ and the Gospel." The CCC heavily emphasizes the Five Solas in doctrine, as well as the Gospel, the Invisible Church, and Conservative Christianity.

Composition
The CCC currently recognizes at least 454 Christian denominations, non-denominational groups, and Chinese house church networks, among which are over two million individual congregations. At last count there were about 718 million individuals represented, which if the organization was a denomination would make it second only to the Roman Catholic Church in total membership.

Membership
The Covenant Christian Coalition represents evangelical Christians broadly and those Protestant denominations and churches aligned with evangelicalism. While Protestant churches are the only affiliated congregations at present, there is nothing that inherently restricts even individual Roman Catholic, Coptic, or Eastern Orthodox churches from joining so long as they agree to the organization's Convictions and the CCC's Covenant. While churches and ministries can join the organization directly, denominations and church associations cannot. Instead, the CCC bestows honorary membership on those denominations that adhere to what the organization considers to be "core biblical doctrines" in an effort to estimate the number and extent of convictional evangelicals worldwide.

Covenant
The Covenant, the CCC's official statement of belief, is composed of twelve stanzas beginning with "We believe" and is defined as a "universal, evangelical statement of faith that outlines the importance of biblical inerrancy, substitutionary atonement, and salvation through Christ alone." It was intentionally written in broad, yet conservative language "to include most evangelical Protestants, while excluding various sects and denominations that the leadership fears seek to distort the gospel." Furthermore, "churches and ministries that join the CCC... have agreed to accept the Covenant and abide by the truths contained therein. The Covenant has thus become a key unifying factor in the movement." Membership requires agreeing with its tenets either de facto or de jure. Congregational leaders that formally sign the Covenant are encouraged to use it in place of, or supplementary to, their own statement of faith.

Leadership
The Covenant Christian Coalition is led by a voluntary team of church and ministry leaders called the Pastoral Council. The egalitarian Pastoral Council maintains the organization's constitution and votes on amendments to the organization's governing document.

The CCC is registered with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs and the United Nations Economic and Social Council is slated to vote on consultative status for the CCC in the summer of 2018.
